Senior Men:
The Senior Men’s rowing programme aims to build on the club’s heritage as a premier rowing centre for the region by developing talented athletes with a competitive, performance-orientated training programme with a focus on success at the major national events such as Four’s Head, Eight’s Head and Henley Royal Regatta.
Our most recent Henley Royal Regatta win, Wyfold Challenge Cup 2012, saw one of the winning athletes move quickly through to reach international standard and win Olympic Gold for Great Britain in the Men’s Eight at the 2016 Rio Games.
The squad offers an inspiring and enjoyable environment for athletes to achieve their goals, and welcomes experienced oarsmen (aged +18yrs) who and are committed and want to take on the challenge of training and performing at a high level, to further their rowing career in the pursuit of success.
Senior Women:
The squad is open to women aged 18 and above who are looking to race competitively and can already row.
We train and race throughout the year – spending the winter at local and national Head races, with the aim of gaining a good finish position at the WEHORR in London. Easter sees the squad at our annual training camp – an intensive week where we work on technique and transition from winter head races to the regatta season.
The Summer racing programme includes local regattas and major national regattas culminating in the Henley Women’s regatta in June.
While we are a competitive squad and the expectation is that training is 6 days a week we also want to enjoy what we do and have some fun. We always welcome new members, so if you have the time to commit to the training and have a desire to improve and see what you can achieve then this is the squad for you.
