A great way to have fun and keep fit:
The Nottingham Rowing Club Junior Squad has been, and continues to be, one of the most successful Junior Squads in the country. We race successfully at all levels of competition and our members win medals throughout the year. We have juniors racing at smaller, locally based events through to high-ranking events such as the Schools’ Head, Women’s Head of the River, Junior Inter-Regional Regatta, National Schools’ Regatta, British Championships, GB trials and many more.
All juniors are coached by qualified coaches who are also DBS checked and hold the emergency first aid certificate. We limit the number of participants in the squad to ensure that juniors receive the support they need to reach their potential.
Space permitting, juniors can join the squad either as beginners through a learn to row course or as experienced scullers.
Junior Performance Group:
The Junior performance group is a group for current rowers looking to push themselves, want to compete at the big events and possibly trial for the GB Junior Rowing Team. The squad trains once a day Monday to Friday 4:15-6pm and Saturday morning, in a combination of singles and crew work, and has a full time coach. Training is a combination of water, ergo and land work and we compete at all the local and major events, from the Head of the Trent to National Schools, Henley Women’s and Henley Royal Regatta.
