The President’s Fund was originally established to support our aspiring international athletes by helping them to take part in trials, assisting with additional equipment needs or indeed anything else necessary to succeed at the highest level. By any measure the success of the fund has been immense, with several club members going on to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Games, World Rowing Championships, World Student Games and Home Internationals.
In recent years the focus of the Fund has shifted to supporting those members who represent the club at the top level of the domestic calendar. We have also released money to support coaching course fees, and technical equipment that will improve all our competing members’ performance.
There is no doubt that the Fund is still relevant, important and crucial in helping our athletes, coaches and wider membership.
